The Carolina Chemistries BioLis 24i from Carolina Liquid Chemistries is a 400 test/hour bench top chemistry analyzer. With a menu of over 100 chemistries it serves well as a back up analyzer for hospitals that can noy afford to be down. Requiring only 31 inch of bench space- this instrument is also ideal as a primary analyzer for small hospitals and physician office laboratories where space is a consideration.
Low operating costs are a major advantage of the BioLis 24i. Other bench top analyzers require either purchasing bulky distilled H20 cubes or disposable cuvettes. The BioLis 24i has permanent cuvettes and comes with a distilled water system. This saves money not only in the extra cost of these items- but also in their freight and storage.
The large menu of the Carolina BioLis 24i consist of reagents that are barcoded and liquid ready to use. The general chemistries cover all Comprehensive Metabolic- Basic- Hepatic- Renal- Anemia and Lipid Panel tests. All Therapeutic drugs and Drugs of Abuse tests are available. Specific Proteins including commonly run IgG- IgA- IgM- C3- C4- Transferin- Haptoglobin- ASO- RF- CRP- Prealbumin and APO lipoproteins are performed reliably because of its antigen excess detection capability. Diabetic screening tests include HbA1c- Fructosamine- Microalbumin are Special chemistries include D dimer- Cystatin C- Insulin- Homocysteine- Lp(a) and hsCRP.
Ease of use is a major plus with the BioLis 24i. Positive sample ID and elimination of instrument programming are achieved with bi-directional interface and barcoded primary tube sampling. LIS interface into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) is also easily achieved. 30 day onboard reagent stability and 14 day calibration stability make daily start up a matter of running QC.
Accuracy of the Carolina BioLis 24i is assured with a combination of unique features. Auto rerun of out of range results not only means no manual dilutions- but also obtaining the correct result on the first run. Carry over is eliminated by a thorough 10 step cuvette wash station that administers heated alkaline and acid washes before and after each run. Reagent and sample mixing is achieved by air which elicits better blending without the use of troublesome stirring paddles.
Carolina Liquid Chemistries tech reps and service engineers make installation and training an easy process. To eliminate drain and water jugs- the BioLis 24i is installed with a water system and drain into a sink. Electrical requirement of 110 AC allows installation anywhere.
